Institutional Care

At Sharon Palliative Care Center we believe that the experiences of no two individuals are alike albeit similarities in their diagnosis and prognosis. Hence, at Sharon Palliative Care Center, we welcome and accommodate special requests from patients and their families for any extra medical care or requirements including visits by external consultants or requests for special needs such as private rooms, air conditioning, etc. all of which will be provided at cost price. Additionally, need-based and request-based diet plans and pain medication too will be provided at actual cost.

Domiciliary Care

We are fully aware that many patients desire being in their own homes and yet want to be able to benefit from palliative care services. This drove us to make sure our services included domiciliary (home – based) care. In providing domiciliary care, our Nurses and Social Workers will carry out periodic visits to patient homes for counselling and appropriate intervention. Domiciliary Care services will further be enhanced through the placement of trained male or female nurses for continuous home care.

Psycho-social Counselling

At Sharon Palliative Care Center the well – being of the families of our patients are equally important. Therefore, necessary psycho–social counselling is extended to the family members not only while their loved one is under our care but even after they pass away. Families are also engaged with a support group to provide them with the needed community and social support to help them cope during this difficult time in their lives.Legal advice on family matters or any social services that our patient or their family might require will also be facilitated by the professional Social Worker on our team.

Therapeutic Care

Our therapeutic care involves pain management which includes minor surgeries when required to help patients manage pain. Our medical interventions ensure symptomatic relief from breathlessness, inability to eat or care for themselves, bedsore care, and infection care.

Training and Development

A significant part of the efforts carried out by our team in addition to the above mentioned services include inspiring the medical fraternity to get increasingly involved in broadening the reach of Palliative care to those who could benefit from it. We conduct training programs for nursing trainees in the field of palliative care.
