The Foundation is the culmination of 4 decades of hands on work by Padma Shri Awardee Dr.V.S. Natarajan, who is regarded as the Father of Geriatrics in India, in the field of caregiving to the elders of our community.

Dr. V.S. Natarajan Geriatric Foundation which works in both Geriatrics and Gerontology involves itself in extensive research in the Ageing and the Aged domains. The Foundation seeks to bridge the gaps between the available and desirable amenities, infrastructure and services that are required for an elderly (60+ years) to lead a comfortable and satisfactory life irrespective of their socio-economic status.

In recent times, apart from health concerns, there has been a quantum leap in the societal and familial issues faced by the elders which not only affects the elders but also places tremendous pressure on the entire social fabric. The Foundation seeks to look deep into each of these issues and come up with holistic and sustainable solutions for them. Each of these solutions will have the active participation of the local society and stakeholders

The Foundation seeks to set standards and protocols for elder care services both in the Geriatric and Gerontology domains. To achieve these intricate goals, the Foundation assumes the role of an aggregator which will actively mentor, partner and handhold all those who seek to serve the elderly community through its functional motto of encouraging – supporting – achieve
