Neurology is one of the first few super-specialty services started at AIIMS Bhopal. Neurological diseases include diseases related to brain, spinal cord, nerve, neuromuscular junction and muscle. Few important and very common diseases are stroke, headache, epilepsy, dementia, sleep disorders, infections of brain (meningitis), myelopathy, neuropathy, myopathy and immune related disorders of nervous system.

Highlights:

Presently department of neurology is having regular OPD, IPD and special clinic for various neurological disorders. Department has advanced neurophysiology lab including epilepsy monitoring unit. Acute stroke care and epilepsy surgery has been started in the institute. Department runs weekly botulimum toxin clinic for various movement disorders and spasticity. 20 bed IPD is functional and additional 10 bed ICU/HDU will be started in near future.
