Chaitanya provides residential care facilities for patients suffering from various psychiatric disorders such as Schizophrenia, Mood disorders, Personality disorders, Substance related disorders and Geriatric disorders.

In reality, Mental illness accounts for five or ten leading causes of distress and disability in Asia. Although there are various types of mental disorders, schizophrenia which is characterized by abnormalities in the perception or expression of reality has 1 % of the general population affected.

Substance Abuse is another major cause of suffering in this world and those with dual diagnosis are even more personified dilemma. Psychological Evaluation, Diagnosis and Acute Care treatment needs to be followed up with Rehabilitation for a better success rate. This gives the patient space to restructure their lives and to gain more insight into their illness, besides giving temporary respite to the Caregiver.

CIMH’s ultimate goal is to reintegrate the chronic, mentally ill back into their families and society. Towards this achievement, Chaitanya works on specific objectives like –

Providing Psychosocial Rehabilitation services to the individuals suffering from mental illness.

Offering Psychological and Social Support to the families of the mentally ill.

Promoting Mental Health and creating Awareness about mental illness in the community.

Networking with other organizations working in the field of Mental Health.

To introduce Post-Graduate Diploma and Degree courses in Psychosocial Rehabilitation.

To undertake Research on Mental Illness and Allied Disorders.

To start a Residential Care Centre for wandering Mentally Ill.

To start a Child Guidance Clinic.

To provide an Agro-based Rehabilitation Programme.

To publish Literature on Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
