Spandana Nursing Home is an exclusive tertiary Psychiatric Centre with liaison of other medical departments which caters to the mental well-being of an individual and the community at large.This centre is tucked in a quite place in Rajajinagar amidst the shade of the trees which has weathered the test of time.Spandana stands for more than five decades and continues to serve with values.
The origin of "Spandana"resonates with Dr Mariappa Srinivasa who is a Psychiatrist and Director of this organisation. Spandana,which aptly means" to reciprocate to the emotional pulses " of the people with psychatric illness and improve the quality of life.
It was started as a small clinic in 1971 by Dr M Srinivasa , fondly known as (MS) has given hope to millions.In that era where psychatric illness were believed to be due to evil spirits and other misconceptions,his role was integral in making a change.His passion and genuine compassion to help people won the hearts of people.In the late 1980's the transition to inpatient and a nursing home care was set up.
His vision is for affordable services.There was always a need for long term rehabilitation services and in view of this Spandana rehabilitation was set up.
